The Computer Science Department discussed a doctoral thesis on tagging multiple objects based on deep learning.

- The Computer Science Department discussed a doctoral thesis titled "Multi-Object Tagging System Based On Machine Learning" by the student Suhah Zaher Azab, a PhD candidate in Computer Science, on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science Department building. The thesis aims to add attributes to objects using a deep learning network to extract a large number of characteristics for accurate object detection and to assign distinctive attributes to them. The work was applied to build an augmented reality system for Iraqi artifacts, achieving a detection accuracy of 84% in the proposed system. The discussion committee was composed of Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hamid Abdul Latif as the head, with members including Prof. Dr. Yusra Hussein Ali, Assistant Prof. Dr. Suhad Mal Allah Kadhim, Assistant Prof. Dr. Adhraa Jasim Mohammed, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Kareem as a member and supervisor.
