the student Ayat Farouk obtained her master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis entitled "Human Skin Color Detection using Machine Learning Techniques" The discovery of the color of human skin is one of the most important techniques in image processing and is widely used in many Applications such as face detection, manual detection and human presence detection. However, there are problems affected by the color of the skin due to different lighting, different races of people, camera specifications, characteristics of individuals. Many researchers have tried to solve skin color problems by applying clear rules based on specific ranges of skin tone. Although it is fast and easy to implement, it fails to provide enough information to identify all human skin tones. Face and hand detection is used in a wide range of applications such as human-computer interaction and biometric measurements. There are many image-based techniques that are effective at detecting the face, such as eigen-faces and neural networks. It was on Wednesday 12/12/2018 and on the discussion room in the building of the department.
