The student (Yasser Diaa Hussein) received his master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for his thesis (Texting Communication Application Based on Hand Gesture). In relation to the study presented, we offer a new approach to represent the English alphabet as gestures using six Patterns. The hash pattern is applied by using the Histogram equation for the grayscale image. The classification process was performed via Euclidean distance function as well as linear discrimination analysis in Fisher (FLDA). Difficulties, including recognition of similar gestures, seem to be fully managed with the proposed technology, as the background is fixed in white. That's why you get an 85% discrimination rate because lighting may be different from one place to another, as well as camera resolution, which is very important in distinguishing features.
