The Computer Science Department organized a workshop on the Bologna Process.
Supervised and attended by the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, the department organized a workshop on the Bologna Process for first-stage faculty members in the department's branches on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The lecture was delivered by the Head of the Artificial Intelligence branch, Dr. Mustafa Jasim, the Head of the Software branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Adhraa Jasim Mohammed, and the heads of other branches.
The workshop clarified important points related to the Bologna Process system, focusing on the professor system, which includes attendance registration, detailed course descriptions for each subject, scheduled and unscheduled hours, and how to enter grades into the system. The workshop also addressed some important inquiries from the professors regarding the system.

The Educational Guidance Unit in the Computer Science Department held a meeting with Information Systems students (First Stage)
under the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan. The first meeting with the first stage students of the Information Systems branch was held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Information Systems branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser, the Director of the Educational Guidance Unit Dr. Mohammed Ghani, and the Director of the Educational Guidance Committee in the branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Shatha Habib Jafar.
The meeting commenced with a welcoming speech by the department head, in which he expressed the department's pride in its students and graduates. He emphasized several key points, including the necessity for students to adhere to the student discipline law, to use a series of references for problem-solving, to focus on enhancing human aspects in interactions, to maintain mutual respect between students and teachers, to pay attention to personal hygiene and modest attire, to follow university instructions and schedules on the department's website, to respect staff members, to participate in student activities organized by the department and the university, to commit to official attendance, and to preserve public property and laboratories.

Assistant Professor Dr. Suheir Mohammed Zaki from the Computer Science department received an appreciation certificate from Dijlah University College in recognition of her efforts in presenting the workshop titled "The Role of University Educational Guidance Committees in Assisting Students to Handle Academic and Psychological Pressures". The Educational Guidance Unit of the department held its first meeting with students of the Artificial Intelligence branch for the second, third, and fourth stages on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The meeting was attended by the head of the Artificial Intelligence branch, Lecturer Dr. Mustafa Jasim, the Director of the Educational Guidance Unit, Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Ghani, and the Director of the Educational Guidance Committee in the branch, Teacher Alaa Abdulhussein.

The Computer Science Department organized a workshop on Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN).
Supervised and attended by the head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, the department organized a workshop titled "Introduction to Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN)" led by the lecturer and faculty member, Professor Dr. Hana Mohsen Ahmed, on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The scientific assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Tareq Mawlud, the administrative assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, other professors, and students of the department attended the workshop.
The workshop covered various generative models, their mathematical representation, and key applications like coloring and beautifying images, videos, and texts. It also discussed the general structure of GANs, their components, the concept of supervised and unsupervised learning, and methods for verifying the authenticity of data.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer and a commemorative photo was taken.
