The Computer Science Department organizes a seminar on student ethics on campus.
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and supervised by the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, a seminar titled "Student Ethics on Campus" was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The event was organized in collaboration with Assistant Lecturer Haneen Rasheed Majeed from the Office of the University President / Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division. It took place in the Dr. Imad Kadhim Memorial Hall in the Computer Science Department building, with the attendance of the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Abeer Tareq Mawlood, along with faculty members and students.
The seminar covered two key topics. The first focused on student behavior, emphasizing the importance of adhering to cultural values, demonstrating good conduct with peers, avoiding bullying, maintaining campus cleanliness, wearing modest attire, and engaging responsibly with social media.
The second topic addressed the relationship between students and their teachers, highlighting the importance of respecting faculty members, appreciating their efforts in delivering academic content, and recognizing their role as respected figures in society.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the department’s Scientific Assistant awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her efforts in delivering the session.

The Computer Science Department organizes a tree-planting campaign in the department's gardens.
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, and with the participation of the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, along with a group of faculty members and students, the Computer Science Department organized a tree-planting campaign in the department's gardens on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The campaign involved planting evergreen trees and seasonal seedlings to expand the university's green spaces and encourage volunteer work among the department’s students. Such initiatives positively impact the environment by promoting healthy surroundings and reducing pollution.
It is worth mentioning that this campaign is part of a series of regular efforts by the department to maintain and sustain green spaces.

Two faculty members from the Computer Science Department delivered lectures at a workshop on the launch of the Graduate Students Tracking System at the University of Technology.
On Monday, September 23, 2024, a workshop was held on how to use the Graduate Students Tracking System, programmed by two faculty members from the Computer Science Department: Assistant Lecturer Fadel Abbas Fadel and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Thamer Abdulhadi. The workshop was attended by the Director of the Graduate Studies Department at the University of Technology, along with all academic assistants of the departments and the managers of the Graduate Studies Division at the university.
The workshop aimed to familiarize the academic and administrative staff with the system’s usage and demonstrate how its tools can facilitate the tracking of graduate students and streamline the management of each student’s academic progress. This system represents a significant step toward improving communication between students and supervisors and organizing academic information with greater accuracy and efficiency.
