- The Educational Guidance Unit of the department held its first meeting with students of the Artificial Intelligence branch for the second, third, and fourth stages on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The meeting was attended by the head of the Artificial Intelligence branch, Lecturer Dr. Mustafa Jasim, the Director of the Educational Guidance Unit, Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Ghani, and the Director of the Educational Guidance Committee in the branch, Teacher Alaa Abdulhussein. The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the head of the branch, in which he expressed the department's pride in its students and graduates. He emphasized several key points, including regulations pertaining to examination instructions, student discipline laws, the necessity for students to adhere to a series of references to solve problems they face, the mutual respect that should exist between students and their teachers, the importance of personal hygiene and modest attire, following university instructions and schedules posted on the department's website, respecting staff members, participating in student activities organized by the department and the university, adhering to the official attendance schedule, and preserving public property and laboratories.

- Supervised and attended by the head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, the department organized a workshop titled "Introduction to Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN)" led by the lecturer and faculty member, Professor Dr. Hana Mohsen Ahmed, on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science building. The scientific assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Tareq Mawlud, the administrative assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, other professors, and students of the department attended the workshop. The workshop covered various generative models, their mathematical representation, and key applications like coloring and beautifying images, videos, and texts. It also discussed the general structure of GANs, their components, the concept of supervised and unsupervised learning, and methods for verifying the authenticity of data. At the conclusion of the workshop, the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer and a commemorative photo was taken.

- The seminar, titled "Ways to Protect University Students from Drugs that Lead to Suicide," was organized by the Computer Science department under the supervision of the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, with the attendance of the scientific assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Tareq Mawlud, the Director of the Educational Guidance Unit Dr. Mohammed Ghani, the Director of the Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations Branch Teacher Taiba Wala' Al-Deen Khairy, along with professors and students of the department. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Haneen Rashid Majid from the Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation Division at the Technological University on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in the discussion hall of the Computer Science department building. The seminar discussed ways to protect youth from drugs, considering it a sensitive and dangerous topic that is widely spread across all social classes. One of the reasons for its prevalence is social and familial causes, highlighting that the less attentive parents are towards their children, the higher the risk of their falling into the trap of drug abuse. It emphasized the necessity of adopting counseling and guidance methods in correcting children's behavior and avoiding harshness. The seminar clarified the types of drugs, the harms of drug use, the symptomatic signs appearing on users, and methods of treatment. It also addressed the importance of reporting drug dealers and users to eradicate this alien phenomenon in our society. In conclusion, the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, awarded a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her efforts in delivering the seminar.
