Conference Goals

The conference goal is to shed a light on the modern scientific developments in the area of computer sciences by:

• Present the new ideas and scientific researches that contribute to the building and presperity of our country
• Assist the scientific role in computer science
• Exchane experiences to rise with scientific reality in computer science
• Make the Computer Sciences Department a scientific place to authenticate the communication between the various academic staff locally and internationaly

Conference Aspects

The Conference include six aspects that are: Software, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Security, Computer Networks and E-Learning, 42 research has been chosen the sessions took place in two days in the conference's halls and the graduate studies' hall in Computer Sciences Department.

Researches Conditions

1. Researches accepted in a form of a research or a worksheet
2. Research must not be published or accepted for publishing or presented to other conferences or symposiums
3. Reprints Researches are accepted by mentioning the source
4. Researches are accepted in both Arabic and English languages
5. The researche title and the abstract must be written in arabic and english languages
6. Research must not exceed 10 pages, the abstract is 1 page
7. Research presented in a CD with the abstract, and printed on A4 paper with the abstract
8. For arabic language use " Simplified Arabic " font
9. For english language use " Times New Roman " font
10. Font size for the main title is 14, 12 for the normal text and secndary titles
11. Page margins are 2.5 cm on four edges
12. Last date for accepting the abstracts is 15-11-2009
13. Last date for accepting the researches is 31-12-2009
14. All researches will be evaluated by the Scientific committee
15. The abstracts will be printed and distributed during the conference
16. The researches will be printed for the conference precedings
17. Information Form must be filled with the research

The University of Technology had walk along with the scientific revolution in the world inspite of the critical sitiuation of our country and it has scusseded in overlooking on the latest aspects of computer sciences that it has it share of scientific conferences according to the university's plan, the theater of the university of technology has witnessed the establishement of the first scientific conference of computer sciences under the saying (Computer Science The Base of Building The Information Society) by the attendance of Dr. Salam Khosnow, deputy of the minister of higher education and scientific research for scientific affairs and the presedent of the university of technology Dr. Kahtan Khalaf Al Khazragy and the administrative assistant Dr. Hussien Salim Ketan and the deans of the scientific departments and a number of deans form various Iraqi universities and the ministry representatives and the professors from the University of Technology.

The conference started by reading several verses form the holy Quran then the Iraqi national anthem and Al Fatiha to have mercy on Iraq martyres, speech form the minister of the higher education and scientific research Dr. Abd Thiab Al Ajeely that was deputed by Dr. Salam Khoshnow the minister deputy for scientific affairs, followed by the speech of the presedent of the University of Technology Dr. Khahtan Kalaf Al Khazraji the presedent of the supervising conference committe followed by the speech of the dean of Computer Science Department and the presedent of the conference preperation committee Dr. Halal Hadi Al Quraishi. the conference witnessed a lecture givin by Dr. Nasr Nafea' Khamies dean of the Information Enginnering in the University of Al Nahrain, titled The role of information technologies and communications in serving the Iraqi society the conference goal was to shed a light on the modern scientic developments in computer science by presenting ideas and new scientific researches that participate in building the new Iraq and ensure the scientific role in computer science in exchanging scientific and academic experiences to rise with the scientific reality in computer science aspect, it also concerned with making the Computer Science Department a scientific stage to authenticate the communication between the various scientific Colleagues locally and internationally.

Minister's Deputy for Scientific Affairs Speech

The speech of the Minister's deputy Dr. Salam Khoshnaw in which he said:

I am happy today to witness this scientific phenomenon, the holding of the first Scientific Conference of Computer Science and under the slogan (computer science is the base for building the information society), which highlights the most important scientific aspects of (systems software, information systems, artificial intelligence, Computer security , Computer Networks and E-learning) and the ways to improve the information society with the changes that the developed world, especially we are aware of the effectiveness of the computer and its positive role on all levels, there is no doubt that the human need to find the optimal way to fullfil his scientific curiosity through the computer and various methodes of modern communications in this context, the scientific revolution and information technology all around the globe have turned all the balances and computer science become a fundamental pillar in the construction of any sector in the government institutions and the fact that the computer is an effective tool and integrated system, it must be activated to end the computer illiteracy in any aspect of life to establish a society that is based on information that correspond to the rapid development witnessed in the world, so the ministry is showing its full readiness to support such scientific conferences that adopt scientific research.

In conclusion, I wish all the sincere efforts that have contributed to the preparation and the success of this conference and the participants all success and progress through what you have given and will give in the future experiences and contribute to the field of computer service, hoping to build the advanced information generation that suits the modern technological taking place in the developed world.

The speech of the presedent of the University of Technology Dr. Qahtan Khalaf Al Khazraji:

The unversity of technology from the past year had worked for the evaluation of the group performance to achieve quality and academic dependency, so the university established a full strategy for the eleven aspect that are considered worldwide standards, the university of technology establishes specialized conferences in different scientific and engineering specialties taking in consideration providing the suitable environment for our faculty members to accomplish researches that are excelent in quality and quantity, in order to rise with the scientific reality for the scientific specialities. Our conference is a live application for one of the University's strategic programs prepared by the Computer Sciences Department under the slogan Computer Sciences are the base to Built the Information Society this conference is considered an opening for a number of upcoming conferences that will be hosted during the current academic year.

The vast amounts of information and data that concern the details and activities of our lives needs a precise and aware management to deal with, so computer sciences and its applications are considered the right tool to manage and process information and data, our researches has accomodated the important aspects in sciences that are rapidly changing these researches has been evaluated by the scientific committee, in the end I would like to thank you all and express my appreciation for the conference staff and to the researchers hoping to all success.

The speech of the dean of the Computer Sciences Department Dr. Hilal Hadi Salih:

The Computer Sciences Department is considered one of the oldest departments in the country it was established in 1983 as one of three departments in computer sciences in Iraq by a presidential decision, the first group of graduate students in 1987 and since then till now the department provided the society with (2423) B.Sc graduate, (98) High Diploma graduate, (258) M.Sc graduate and (87) PhD graduate in various branches of computer science. many of the department's graduates are working in the arabic universities now, the department has been excellent on the national level in its staff and accomodating the rapid developments. the department has a specialized scientific branches they are : (Software, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Security) as the department has the support it needed from the president of the university and he was the supervisor on this conference preparation and providing all the necessary element in establishing the conference in a period of months.

Our conference discuss six aspects in computer sciences which are: (software, Information systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer security, Computer networks, E-learning), as the number of presented researches has exceded (150) research, and the scientific committee chosen only (42) research from them due to the limitation in the conference time table, the researches are distributed to six sessions on the Computer Sciences Department's halls in a period of two days, in the end I would like to thank the presedent of the University and the audience for fulfilling the invitation and the respected participated researchers.

Closing ceremony and recommendations

The next day of the conference witnessed reading the conference's recommendations read by the dean of computer sciences department Dr. Hilal Hadi Salih as follows:

• Adopting other aspects to the previous six that was discussed by the conference which is E-Commerece, Simulation systems for applications and scientific experiments, Image processing, Robotics and other branches of computer science
• Building a national programming industry and reducing the dependancy on the exported products by the collabertion between the university and the society
• Unifying the database systems on the data and information of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and connect them by an internal communication network with various levels of authentication
• Building industrial and medical expert systems based on the society needs
• Support the ways in data protecting applications and prevent viruses and information piracy
• Increase the dependancy on Linux operating system because it provide higher security and it is an open source system
• Establish a new branches in the computer sciences departments that study all the details in computer networks for the urgent needs for this speciality all around the world
• Encourage E-learning and its methods and adopte it as a way of learning that support the classical learning system
• Establish periodic conferences to accomodate the rapid development and give chances for our researchers and academic staff to research and study
• Take care of the graduate studiens and adopt the principle of specializtion to accomodate the scientific development
• Assure the computation of all administrative works and built a governmental database that will pave the way for the E-goverenment

finally awards and acknowledgement letters had been presented, the dean of computer sciences department Dr. Hilal hadi Salih the president of the preperation committee delivered the armor of the 1st computer conference to Dr. Khatan Khalaf Al Khazragy and in his behalf he honored Dr. hilal hadi salih, Dr. Nasir Nafaa' dean of Information engineering college in the Al Nahrain university and the sessions presidents and finally to the participated researchers.
