The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis
Estimating The Real Size and Speed Of Moving Objects Using A Propose Camera Calibration Method
For the doctoral student (Saif Bashar Neamah), Computer Science/General, today, Monday, 11/13/2023, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building, in the presence of the Department Head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan.
The thesis aims to build a system for monitoring vehicle traffic, estimating the speed and size of vehicles, classifying them and counting them based on the deep learning convolutional neural network algorithm and the multi-tracking algorithm.
Artificial intelligence algorithms, specifically single-stage deep learning neural networks, were adopted to process video files in real time and achieve stable results and fast performance.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Mathil Emad Al-Din Abdel Moneim as Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Abeer Tariq Mouloud, Prof. Dr. Shaima Hamid Shaker, Prof. Dr. Yousry Hussein Ali, Prof. Dr. Ghada Kazem Tohme, and Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah as members. Karim is a member and supervisor.
