The Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology organized a scientific visit to the Iraqi National Museum today, Thursday, 2023-11-23, under the supervision of the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, with the participation of a number of faculty and staff members. This visit is part of a series of events by the Department of Computer Science to increase scientific knowledge and enhance the cultural aspect for our students.
The visit was characterized by the new information provided by the museum staff about the artifacts, including statues, stelae, manuscripts, and seals, which date back to ancient civilizations that represent the history of Iraq before the invention of writing. These artifacts represent the five civilizations of Mesopotamia: Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Islamic, as well as the Kingdom of Hadhr.
At the end of the visit, the Computer Science Department staff thanked the museum management for their warm reception
