A master's thesis in the Computer Science Department discusses the automatic evaluation of students' handwritten answers about Arabic poetry.

- The Computer Science Department discussed the master's thesis titled: Automated Evaluation of Student's Handwritten Answers to Arabic Poetic Poems

by the master's student Huda Sabah Shaker, specializing in Computer Science / Information Systems, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kadhom Hall in the department building. The thesis aims to develop a system based on deep learning for the automatic evaluation of Arabic handwritten text. Arabic text poses challenges due to its cursive nature, which increases the difficulty of recognition. The system relies on a convolutional neural network and has achieved high recognition rates, efficiency, accuracy, and fast response times. The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Firas Abdul Hameed Abdul Latif as Chair, and members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suhad Mal Allah Kazem, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuha Jameel Ibrahim, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raheem Abdul Sahib Akla as a member and supervisor, and Prof. Dr. Abdulmunem Saleh Rahma as a member and supervisor.
