The Department of Computer Science discussed the tagged master's thesis Improving Image Classification using Xception Model with Image Coding by Akram Hasan Swailem, a master's student, in the discussion hall in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The thesis aims to integrate the deep neural network with some image compression algorithms to reduce its data, which leads to reducing the image processing time as well as the storage space, taking into account the accuracy of the results. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Ayad Rawdan Abbas as Chairman, with membership as Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Watan Ghandawi, and Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser, Prof. Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Karim as member and supervisor, and Dr. Mustafa Jassim as member and supervisor.

The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral dissertation tagged Dynamic Background Extraction In Video Surveillance Based On Artificail Intelligent Technique by doctoral student Maryam Abdel-Rahim Yasser on the discussion hall in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The thesis aims to build a new model for extracting the moving scene background in video surveillance systems, and very good results were obtained with very small error rates. The Department of Computer Science discussed the tagged master's thesis Image Encrption Approach Based On Quad Tree Decomposition Technique by Sahabah Fawad Ibrahim on the discussion hall in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The thesis aims to present the development of image encryption algorithms that depend on showing the capabilities of the quadruple tree to be an effective auxiliary tool in encryption to increase the security of the image and the speed of its encryption. This morning, Tuesday 20/6/2023, a competitive exam was held for students applying for admission to postgraduate studies (PhD and MA) for the academic year 2023-2024 in the Department of Computer Science / University of Technology and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan. Where the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan, the scientific assistant, the assistant professor, Dr. Noha Jamil Ibrahim, and the administrative assistant, the assistant professor, Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, accompanied by members of the ministerial committee, accompanied by the director of the postgraduate studies department at the university (Dr. Hussein Ali Hussein), who supervises the conduct of the examinations in the examination halls for direct viewing On the conduct of the examination and the needs of the students and the facilities provided by the presidency of the department in order to provide a suitable environment for the examination.
