- The President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, granted a financial reward to students from the Computer Science Department, Software Branch, supervised by the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, for winning first place in the department in the student festival held by the University of Technology in the last academic year 2022-2023.

- The Computer Science Department discussed the tagged master's thesis Smart Garage Based On Machine learning Technique For the student (Soha Qusay Ahmed), Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence, on Wednesday, 10/25/2023, in the discussion room in the building of the Computer Science Department annex, in the presence of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan. The thesis aims to create an effective and reliable system to manage the garage entrance and the efficiency of parking when entering it. It was concluded that this system enhances the safety of the garage, prevents unauthorized access, and simplifies traffic congestion at the entrance. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sahib Mahdi as chairman, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Ghathwan as members, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Jassim Hadi, Prof. Dr. Iqbas Izz al-Din Ali as member and supervisor, and Prof. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser as member and supervisor. .

- The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis Secure Approach For IOT Data Based On Homomorphic And Blockchain Technologies For doctoral student (Muhannad Ali Muhammad) Computer Science/General on Wednesday 10/25/2023 in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building. The goal of the thesis is to produce a secure and lightweight blockchain system based on a new proposed consensus algorithm and integrating it with the homomorphic Okamoto a Chiyama. To achieve the greatest degree of confidentiality. It was concluded that the system can work with Internet of Things data, ensuring confidentiality and reducing resource consumption and implementation time. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Zahir Abdel Hadi Abdullah as chairman, and Prof. Dr. Sakina Hassan Hashem, Prof. Dr. Nida Falih Hassan, Prof. Dr. Abeer Tariq Mawlood, Prof. Ikhlas Khalaf Kabbashi, and Prof. Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdel Wahab as members. - The Computer Science Department discussed the tagged master's thesis Analysis Of Adverse Effects Of Covid 19 Vaccination Using Data Mining Techniques For master’s student Hind Munadhil Abdullah, Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence, on Tuesday, 10/24/2023, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building. The thesis aims to use data mining methodologies to study and analyze patterns, correlations, and characteristics associated with the side effects of Covid-19 vaccines. The proposed system included applying data mining techniques such as association rule mining to identify patterns and connections.
