- The Computer Science Department discussed the tagged doctoral thesis Crowd Management Using Deep Learning via Wireless Network. For the doctoral student (Mohamed Abdel-Jalil Maktouf), Computer Science/General, in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building. The thesis, consisting of five chapters, aims to discuss the problem of detecting and calculating human population momentum and finding an easy solution method to detect and calculate population momentum in a census through the use of a deep learning neural network algorithm. The conclusions reached by the researcher include the adoption of artificial intelligence technology to control crowds and their locations, in addition to the possibility of discovering safe algorithms for crowd data to control them from any breaches that could pose a threat to them. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Tariq Sadiq as Chairman, and Prof. Dr. Abeer Tariq Mouloud, Prof. Dr. Shaima Hamid Shaker, Prof. Dr. Khaled Shaker Jassem, and Prof. Dr. Shatha Habib Jaafar as members. Dr. Ibrahim Nadir Ibrahim, member and supervisor, and Prof. Israa Tahseen Ali, member and supervisor.

- The Computer Science Department discussed the tagged master's thesis Path Planning for Mobile Robot control Movement using Optimization Algorithm By the student (Zahraa Nasser Alwan) Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence today, Sunday, 11/5/2023, in the discussion hall in the building of the Computer Science Department annex. In the presence of the head of the department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan. The thesis aims to improve path planning for mobile robots in complex and crowded environments. By taking advantage of optimization techniques and aiming to develop path planning algorithms that can create safe and efficient paths while reducing energy consumption and resource use, the researcher concluded that combining the genetic algorithm with the gorilla algorithm gives the best planning for the robot. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Iyad Rawdan Abbas from the University of Technology as chair and the membership of Prof. Dr. Shatha Habib Jaafar from the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Salwa Muhammad Najris, Minister’s Office/Women’s Empowerment Department, and Prof. Dr. Hanaa Mohsen. Ahmed from the Technological University, member and supervisor.
