The Department of Computer Science will launch in 2024 (Journal of Elastic Computing and Computer Applications) It is the first modern scientific journal on the platform of the international publishing house Elsevier, from the publisher, the University of Technology The magazine aims to publish research and articles related to the field of computers and its various applications The magazine publishes two issues a year and seeks to shed light on modern technologies and concepts in the various fields of computer science and emerging innovations in this field.

Today, Thursday, October 12, 2023, the Computer Science Department team defeated the Electrical Engineering team with a score of (5-3) for the Computer Science Department team, the match that was the second in the group qualifiers in the President of the University of Technology’s Football Championship for teachers.

The Computer Science Department discussed the tagged master's thesis Optimize Resource Allocation Model In Secure For Computing To the master’s student (Aya Akram Sadiq/MSc Umniah) on Tuesday 10/10/2023 in the discussion room in the Computer Science Department building. The thesis aims to improve the work of fog computing in terms of allocating and managing resources better to distribute tasks and achieve a balance between resource use and reducing access time. And enhancing safety by allocating optimal resources. The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Haider Kazem Hamoud as Chairman, Prof. Dr. Rahim Abdel-Saheb Okla, Prof. Iyad Hazem Ibrahim, Prof. Dr. Sakina Hassan Hashem as a member and supervisor. Dr. Shatha Habib Jaafar, member and supervisor.

The Computer Science Department team won the University President’s Football Championship for teachers, which was held by the Department of Physical Education and Student Activities on Tuesday, 10/10/2023, on the fields of the University of Technology, in the presence of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan. It was a successful start for the Computer Science Department team. For its victory in the first match in the tournament over the oil and gas engineering team, 3-0, to nothing for the opposing team. The tournament consisted of 4 groups of participating teams, and the Computer Science Department team was among the second group in the tournament. It is worth noting that the second group consists of (Computer Science Department, Architecture Engineering, Production and Mineral Engineering, Oil and Gas Engineering, and Electrical Engineering).

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Assistant in the Computer Science Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, the campaign to prepare water and sewage drains in preparation for the winter season was initiated. This campaign is one of the ongoing maintenance campaigns in the Computer Science Department.
