The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, visited the Department of Computer Science to see the progress of the final exams for the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021 today, Monday 7/26/2021. He was received by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan, and the administrative assistant, Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi. During the visit, the classrooms were inspected and the preventive measures followed in the department, the level of questions and the appropriate atmosphere for students to take exams, and in conclusion, the President of the University praised the level of cleanliness and cooling in the department.

The head of the department also stressed the need to adhere to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Presidency of the University of Technology for exams in order to succeed in exams.

PhD thesis in the Department of Computer Science discussing a mobile application to diagnose human eye diseases for the telemedicine service
The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis tagged "A mobile application for diagnosing human eye diseases for telemedicine service" by doctoral student Shorouq Hamid Rashid, Thursday 06/24/2021 in the discussion room in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The aim of the thesis is to diagnose external eye diseases from a distance. The thesis discussed how to distinguish the patterns and accuracy required in this process and the way in which the telemedicine service is delivered. The most important findings of the researcher are that the combination of mobile technologies, wireless communications and cloud computing is necessary and useful in providing remote health services, especially in light of the current conditions of the Corona pandemic. The Department of Computer Science discussed the doctoral thesis entitled "Validation of the validity of electronic documents using biometrics technology" for doctoral student Ammar Muhammad Ali on Monday 6/28/2021 in the discussion room in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The main objective of the thesis is to obtain an electronic document by designing a productive and modest strategy that does not require extensive experience in the application or a high degree of training. And the preventive measures that are achieved to reach the highest levels of confidentiality and safety. The proposed system succeeded in authenticating and verifying electronic documents by adopting new methods for preparing a secure digital signature. The discussion committee consisted of:

Opening of the GIS laboratory in the Department of Computer Science
With God’s help, the GIS laboratory was opened in the Department of Computer Science under the auspices of the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan, based on the requirements of the courses related to the applied aspects of the curricula of preliminary and graduate studies and graduation projects.. This achievement comes in line with the goals and aspirations of the department in terms of preparing students And rehabilitating them according to sober scientific curricula to meet the needs of the labor and scientific research sector, where the instructor, Dr. Ali Adel, installed the programs for the laboratory, and all the requirements of a physical and software entity were completed depending on the available material capabilities.

Master's thesis in the Department of Computer Science discusses intrusion detection systems based on recursive neural networks while reducing recursive properties
The Department of Computer Science discussed the Master's thesis tagged "Intrusion detection systems based on recursive neural networks while reducing recursive properties" for master's student Bilal Muhammad Matar Computer Science / Information Systems Tuesday 6/22/2021 in the discussion room in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The thesis discusses intrusion detection systems on the network and how to build the system on a stable dataset so that it suggests the system is effective with the chosen methods. The goal of the thesis is to propose an intrusion detection system based on recursive neural networks to identify attacks on the network, and an algorithm for reducing recursive properties is proposed to select a few features. The results obtained after applying the system were with a high accuracy of 98%. The discussion committee consisted of:

An electronic scientific workshop in the Department of Computer Science
Under the patronage of the head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan, and under the supervision and organization of the scientific assistant, the teacher of Dr. Noha Jamil, the director of the Division of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations, the assistant teacher, Walaa Al-Din Khairy, and in the framework of scientific cooperation between the departments, the scientific workshop entitled “Planning the Space Program” was held in the evening On Tuesday 06/29/2021, which summarized a preliminary plan for the space program of the University of Technology based on the directives of the University Presidency, the workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Jamal Muhammad Rasoul, a faculty member in the Department of Communications Engineering and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Communications Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Afnan Anwar Abboud This workshop discussed the most important basic concepts of satellite work and the importance of the Computer Science Department and its specializations in managing space systems from building systems and control programs. This is the first workshop in a series of upcoming workshops in the same context.

Today, Sunday 20/6/2021, competitive exams for graduate studies (Masters and PhD) in the Department of Computer Science for the academic year 2021-2022 were launched under direct ministerial supervision, where the halls of the Department of Computer Science witnessed the orientation of 62 male and female students competing for admission to graduate studies and under the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan, scientific assistant Dr. Noha Jamil Ibrahim, and administrative assistant Dr. Bashar Saadoun, during which the appropriate atmosphere was provided for our dear students while adhering to health and safety conditions.
