The Head of Computer Sciences Department participated in the meeting of the Social Gender Committee
The Head of Computer Sciences Department Dr. Hala Bahgat Abdel Wahab Member of the Social Gender Committee in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the University of Technology paticipated in the first meeting of the Social Gender Committee for the development of women leaders and the fight against violence against women. The meeting dealt with the identification of a gender perspective and the preparation of workshops and conferences for the psychological empowerment of women leaders in education and preparation for the etiquette course for the Ministry's members.
The meeting also discussed the establishment of a network of Iraqi women scientists in scientific disciplines and in cooperation with the French Embassy and the Secretariat of Baghdad and work at the level of universities to combat violence as well as the empowerment of women economically, politically and scientifically.

Head of the Department of Computer Science participates in the meeting of the Council for Improving the Quality of Education of Computer Colleges
The Head of Computer Sciences Department Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdul Wahab participated in the meeting of improving the education quality of computer colleges hosted by science college Al Mustansiriyah University, The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Bashar Makki Al-Issawi, and attended by the members of the Council from different universities and governorates of Iraq, The meeting dealt with a number of aspects and points on its agenda, including the main focus of the internal system, the aspect of the future plan for the work of the Council and the aspect of dividing duties as well as the discussion of the work mechanism of the courses system, in addition to discussing what has been achieved from the plan of implementation of the governmental program. the need to discuss the means and mechanisms to ensure the quality of education in computer colleges.

Discussing the doctoral dissertation of the student Rafal Ali Samir
The student Rafal Ai Samir received her PhD degree from the department of computer sciences - university of thechnology for her thesis entitled (Video Summarization Using Video Object Segmentation and Bag of Visual Words) in which it introduces five suggested ways to summarize a video: a method to provide the video summary in a static format (images only) And the way the video summary progresses dynamically (sound and image) and three hybrid modes that provide a static and dynamic summary of the video. There are two basic processes for finding a video summary: training, including building the BoVW, BoAW, and testing process, which involves producing the abstract in images, audio, and images by testing its visual or audio contents or both. the discussion was on Tuesday, June 11, 2018, at the discussion hall in the department. The discussion committee consisted of (Dr. Nada Falih Hassan and Dr. Rana Farid Ghani) from the University of Technology / Computer Sciences Department and Dr. Ziad Tariq Mustafa (from the University of Diyala / Department of Computer Science and Prof. Dr. Diaa Abdul Hussein Juma) from Al Mustansiriya University / Faculty of Science / Department of Computer Science and (Dr. Ibrahim Nazeer Ibrahim) / Faculty of Basic Education in the presence of the student supervisor (Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Karim).
