- The teachers (Dr. Yousra Hussein Ali) from the Department of Computer Science with the participation of researcher Maysaa' Saadoun Mohsen published their scientific research titled (the removal of reflections using the smallest iterative squares method) in the Iraqi Journal of Science issued by the College of Science / University of Baghdad. The idea of the research is summarized in the widespread effects in the images captured through a transparent glass medium. These reflections represent a major problem in photography and strongly affect the performance of image processing algorithms. This research deals with the problem of separating reflection from two images taken at two different angles in front of a transparent glass medium and suggests the use of the smallest iterative squares method in the separation process, which has proven superior to performance over the modern algorithm through quantitative and visual comparisons.

- Two teachers (Dr. Abdul Amir Abdullah Karim and Dr. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser) from the Department of Computer Science published a research titled (Distinguishing the English letter from the video series based on a bag of visual words) in the Journal of the College of Madinat Al-Elem University. the research states that there are a lot of digital images available for the printed documents and the search is still on to reach the best algorithm for recognizing the English letters The proposed method consists of four steps. First the wavelet transformation is applied to literal images using the filter. Second, the important points are discovered using the angle detector. Third, those important points are described using the strong Acceleration Descriptor. Fourth, used an algorithm to group attributes into clusters to get a bag of visual words. The experimental results showed that the proposed method is more efficient, fast and distinctive compared to using the method of seven moments and with less time so the bag of visual words is considered the optimum accuracy in the process of distinguishing letters.

- The student Rehman Abdul Reda Hussein received his master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for his thesis entitled (watermark of quantum images using waves and geometric transformations). Watermarking is very important technique to protect the data transfered all over the world. This protection is done by adding confidential data (image, text, etc.) to the data to be protected to be safe from copyright infringement. One of the techniques that modern research has focused on is watermarking and other image processing techniques. In this thesis, quantum calculations are used as a coding system to encode the image to be embedded and fill in the image to be protected for increased security and difficulty in detecting it. LSB is used as a modulation technique after converting the cover image from the spatial domain to the frequency domain using Haar DWT. This was on Sunday, 29/9/2019 at the discussion hall in the department and the discussion committee was composed of (Prof. Dr. Hala Bahgat Abdel Wahab and Dr. Israa Tahseen Ali) of the University of Technology / Department of Computer Sciences and (Dr. Ibrahim Nazeer Ibrahim) from the Al Mustansiriya University in the presence of student supervisors (Prof. Dr. Mathiel Emad Eddin Abdel Moneim) and (Prof. Dr. Abdul Mohsen Jaber Abdel Hussein). The student Rehman Abdul Reda Hussein received his master's degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for his thesis entitled (watermark of quantum images using waves and geometric transformations). - The student (Muhammad Dakhil Abd Ali) obtained his master’s degree from the Computer Science Department / University of Technology for his thesis entitled (Proposal to enhance the performance of Wireless Body Area Network for E-Health Application) In this thesis, he discussed both sides, e-health security and energy consumption efficiency for WBAN, he proposed a high-yield, reliable, and energy-efficient protocol for WBAN. A new mechanism has also been proposed to connect the beams to the dock to ensure that all packets sent from the sensor to the gateway device reach and retransmit the packets that were dropped during human movement or the link failure to increase network reliability. Additionally, he proposed a patient data security system by using Blockchain technology to save user data and privacy, and encryption algorithms to secure a data transfer channel between the patient and the e-health service provider. In the WBAN segment, simulation results using Python show that the proposed protocol reduces energy consumption, increases the grid stability period, and increases network throughput which means more packets transported to the sink node which are the primary purpose of monitoring ongoing human physiological activities. That was on Sunday, 29/9/2019 at the discussion hall in the department. The discussion committee consisted of (Dr. Rehab Falih Hassan and Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan) from the University of Technology / Department of Computer Science and (Dr. Sarab Majeed Hamid) from the University of Baghdad / College of Science and in the presence of the student supervisor (Dr. Soukaina Hassan Hashem).
