Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, and the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, student Mustafa Yass Khudhair from the second stage, Multimedia branch, followed by the department's Sports Activities Coordinator, Professor Hussein Abdul Redha, participated in the Youth Scouting Forum. The event, held under the slogan "University Scouting Youth and Voluntary Work: Empowerment, Possibility, and Capability," took place at the Future University in Babylon. It saw the participation of 64 governmental universities and private colleges, with 160 participants including professors and students from various Iraqi and Arab universities. The forum aimed to enhance cultural communication and exchange experiences.

The Administrative and Financial Department of the Military Manufacturing Authority has expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, for his dedicated and exceptional efforts in developing and training the authority's personnel and its formations in the field of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear defense) and cybersecurity. This acknowledgment comes through his lectures delivered during the course held at the authority's center, wishing him ongoing success and continued contributions to the public good.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has awarded a Certificate of Excellence to the Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology for securing the first place in the Iraqi University Ranking for the year 2023, through competition with corresponding disciplines in public universities and private colleges and universities.

The Department of Computer Science appreciates the efforts of student Muhaimen Ahmad Katouf from the Computer and Cybersecurity branch, second year, for preparing a booklet on Linux fundamentals in cybersecurity, under the supervision of the branch head, Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Hazem Ibrahim. Additionally, student Mohammad Khudair Khairallah, second year from the Artificial Intelligence branch, completed the design and review of the book under the supervision of the branch head, Dr. Mustafa Jasim. The first edition of the book was presented to the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, who expressed his pride and appreciation for the students' accomplishment during their meeting in his office on Monday, 2024/3/18, in the presence of the scientific deputy, Professor Dr. Abeer Tariq Maulood, the head of the Computer and Cybersecurity branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayad Hazem Ibrahim, and the head of the Artificial Intelligence branch, Dr. Mustafa Jasim. He encouraged them to continue with research projects and offered support. It's noteworthy that the booklet produced by the department's students was a collaborative effort with students from Al-Isra University.
