- The Committee of Industrial Experts in the Department of Computer Science held its first meeting for the second semester of the current academic year 2023-2024, chaired by Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, Head of the Department of Computer Science, with the attendance of representatives from various companies in the job market. The meeting saw the participation of Mr. Omar Tahseen Al-Samarrai from Smart Touch Company, Engineer Abdullah and Ms. Saja Wasfi Jaafar from Network Gate Company, Ms. Sarah Abdul Aziz Hilal representing Baghdad Gate Company (Ardnok office), and Mr. Ali Atta Baqer from Access to Information Technology Company. The attendees emphasized the importance of students and graduates possessing fundamental computer skills, a love for learning, and the attribute of perseverance in work to enhance their efficiency. Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, Head of the Department of Computer Science, stressed the significance of the private sector and the need to educate students about it. The meeting concluded with an agreement on future cooperation prospects that would benefit the student, the graduate, and the educational process, serving the job market. The meeting took place on Thursday, 2/29/2024, in the council of the Department of Computer Science, with the attendance of Professor Dr. Abeer Tariq Mawlood, the Scientific Assistant to the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Adhraa Jassim Mohammed, Head of the Software branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Eyad Hazem Ibrahim, Head of the Cybersecurity branch, Lecturer Dr. Rana Mohammed Hassan Zaki, Head of the Multimedia branch, and members of the Committee of Industrial Experts including the committee secretary, the Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, Eng. Nada Najil Kamal, the Director of the Graduates Follow-up Unit, Eng. Saima Hassan Aziz, and the Company Coordinator, Eng. Dina Kadhim Mohsen.

- The Assistant to the President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, inaugurated the discussion hall in the annex building of the Department of Computer Science today, Thursday, 2024/2/29, with the presence of the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, faculty members, and associates. The Head of the Department of Computer Science mentioned that this hall was rehabilitated with exceptional and self-driven efforts by the department's leadership and its associates to align with the scientific stature of our department and our beloved university. Assistant Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, the Assistant to the President for Administrative Affairs, expressed his happiness, admiration, and praise for these efforts, offering his thanks and appreciation to all those involved in these fantastic achievements, especially the Head of the Department of Computer Science, for elevating the department's status on all levels. This hall includes modern devices and tools to serve as a center for holding conferences, seminars, and discussions. It's noteworthy that the Head of the Department of Computer Science launched a campaign aimed at rehabilitating the department's laboratories and opening the discussion hall. This inauguration is one of the sustainable development goals that the University of Technology strives to achieve, represented in quality education, innovation, infrastructure, and forging partnerships to achieve these goals. In conclusion, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, the Head of the Department of Computer Science, presented a shield to Assistant Professor Dr. Farhad Mohammed Osman, the Assistant to the President for Administrative Affairs, on this occasion.

- The Department of Computer Science discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Tamper Detection Model In Instant Image Based On Face Biometrics" by PhD student Hind Mu'taz Abdul Sattar in Computer Science / General on Wednesday, 2/28/2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kazim hall. The dissertation aims to detect tampering and impersonation methods using facial biometrics and develop a system usable in real life that achieves optimal timing for all operations and identifies authorized versus unauthorized individuals. The discussion committee was composed of Prof. Dr. Jamila Harbi Aboud as chair and members Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdul Hassan, Prof. Dr. Hana Mohsen Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Nada Faleh Hassan, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Faleh Nasser, and Prof. Dr. Iqbas Azaldeen Ali as a member and supervisor, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Raghad Abdulali Aziz as a member and supervisor.
