- The Computer Science department's football team defeated the Production and Metals Engineering department's team (6-4) in favor of the Computer Science team in the third match of the group qualifiers in the Technological University President's football championship, which took place at the university field yesterday, Sunday, 2023/11/26. The goals were scored by Mustafa Ali (five goals) and Mustafa Sabah (one goal). Congratulations to the champions of the Computer Science department.

- Director of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division in the Department of Computer Science, teacher Nada Najeel Kamal, participated in the training workshop entitled “Writing a Self-Evaluation Report for Educational Institutions,” which was held in the Martyr Al-Sadr Hall (may God bless his soul) in the Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) University in Baghdad on Sunday 11-26-2023. The workshop was attended by the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Zainab Nasser Jameel, and the directors of quality departments and divisions in Iraqi universities. At its beginning, the workshop included an introduction to a number of concepts such as quality, recognition, accreditation, its benefits and types. The workshop outlined the steps that must be followed to obtain accreditation, which include: writing a self-evaluation report, then an improvement plan and a conformity report, followed by reviewing the conformity report and then visiting experts in order to begin the accreditation procedures. The workshop indicated that the self-evaluation report is intended to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the institution. During the workshop, some national institutional accreditation standards for higher education institutions in Iraq were clarified, especially the first standard, “Educational Institution Strategy,” and the second standard, “Governance and Administration.” At the end of the workshop, the workshop included answering the participants’ inquiries and distributing certificates of participation to the attendees.

- The Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology organized a scientific visit to the Iraqi National Museum today, Thursday, 2023-11-23, under the supervision of the department head, Professor Dr. Alaa Kadhim Farhan, with the participation of a number of faculty and staff members. This visit is part of a series of events by the Department of Computer Science to increase scientific knowledge and enhance the cultural aspect for our students. The visit was characterized by the new information provided by the museum staff about the artifacts, including statues, stelae, manuscripts, and seals, which date back to ancient civilizations that represent the history of Iraq before the invention of writing. These artifacts represent the five civilizations of Mesopotamia: Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian, and Islamic, as well as the Kingdom of Hadhr. At the end of the visit, the Computer Science Department staff thanked the museum management for their warm reception
