The Department of Computer Science discussed the tagged master's thesis Covid19 Prediction System Based on Location Tracking of Infected People A coved19 prediction system based on tracking the location of the infected persons for the student, Safa Muhammad Musab, on the discussion hall in the building of the Computer Science Department. The message aims to track the locations of people infected with coved 19 and predict the most endemic places of the epidemic, based on the statistical analysis of injuries. A hybrid model of text similarity based on meaning networks and machine learning algorithms by the student Nima Hussein Hamid on the discussion hall in the building of the Department of Computer Science. The thesis deals with a hybrid method for measuring similarity in terms of meaning between texts using semantic networks and machine learning algorithms. The students of the Department of Computer Science started the preliminary study with the final exams for the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023 on Sunday 28/5/2023, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the directives of the Presidency of the University of Technology, where the head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Assistant Professor, Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, to review the course of the examination process in the department. Where all the necessary requirements for the success of the exams were provided in order to enable the students to perform their exams without obstacles.

On Thursday, 5/18/2023, the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan, held a meeting in the discussion room in the building of the Department of Computer Science with the Director and members of the Laboratory Division, in the presence of the scientific assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Noha Jamil Ibrahim, and the Director of the Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations Division, teacher Taiba Walaa Al-Din Khairy and Director of the Laboratories Division, Assistant Lecturer Atheer Rahim, the Laboratory Audit Committee and laboratory officials, at the beginning of the meeting, welcomed the head of the department to attend and expressed her thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the laboratory staff.

The Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan, participated in the celebration of the International Day of Communication and the Information Society, which was held by the National Security Advisor, Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, in cooperation with the Communications and Media Authority, on Wednesday 17/5/2023 in the hall of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Communications, Dr. Hiyam Al-Yasiri and gentlemen heads of departments in universities with specialization. Where the world celebrates on the seventeenth of May of each year the International Day of Communication and the Information Society to help raise awareness of the importance of communication and information technology in human life.
