The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Unit, organizes a cultural workshop on the concept of liberation from a woman's point of view
The Computer Science Department, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the University of Technology, organized the cultural symposium tagged “The Concept of Liberation from a Woman’s Perspective” by Professor Bushra Abdul-Hussein Al-Ta’i from the University of Baghdad, Center for Psychological Research, on Wednesday 12/4/2023 in the discussion hall in the building of the Computer Science Department Under the supervision of the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan, and in the presence of the scientific assistant, Assistant Prof. Dr. Noha Jamil Ibrahim, and a number of teachers and students.
The symposium dealt with the definition of the concept of freedom, which means liberation from the restrictions that shackle human energies and production, whether they are material or moral restrictions, as it means getting rid of slavery to a person or a group. As for liberation, it is the liberation of thought from the shackles of ignorance, and it is self-development and aspiration to new ideas.
The concept of women's emancipation differs from one woman to another according to thinking, social structure and culture
And the nature of customs, behavior and family upbringing.
Liberation is the liberation of the mind, and it must be within the customs and traditions.
In conclusion, the lecturer expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Department of Computer Science, represented by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan, for holding such seminars.

Assistant Lecturer Fadhil Abbas Fadhil received the B.Sc degree in Computer science from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology-Baghdad-Iraq since 2015, the M.Sc in Cyber Security from the Engineering School of Information Technologies Department at Ural Fedral University-Yekaterinburg-Russia in 2022. Since September 2015 up to now, Fadhil works at Computer Science Department in University of Technology. Assistant Lecturer Fadhil obtained the first sequence among the graduates in the bachelor's degree, and in the master’s degree, he had obtained the distinguished red graduation certificate in the Russian Federation. He has some research published in international collections. He also has a lot of software applications currently in use at the University of Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Fadhil has a wide area of research interests in Information and computing sciences; Cybersecurity and privacy; Computer vision and multimedia computation; Information systems; Human-centred computing; Data management and data science; Artificial intelligence; Software engineering; Machine learning. He has strong knowledge in most programming languages such as: (PHP, Python, Java Script, C#, C++, Visual basic, Prolog, Matlab and ASP). In addition to analyzing and building databases.

The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, organizes the Branches Football Championship
Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel Hassan, and in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Prof. Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hassanein Samir.
The Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, organized a football championship for the branches. The tournament was supervised by Mr. Hussein Abdel-Reda Odeh, the sports activity officer in the department, and with the follow-up of Mr. Muhammad Khudair Hameed from the Sports Activity Department.
The teams were divided into two groups, Group A, which includes branches of (media, security, and systems) and Group B, which includes branches of (intelligence, networks, and software).
In conclusion, cups and prizes were distributed to the winning teams in the tournament, where the team of the artificial intelligence branch won the first place and the team of the multimedia branch won the second place. The student player Youssef Nasser from the branch of artificial intelligence won the title of the tournament’s top scorer, and the student player Mustafa Abdel Wahed won the title of best player and the student player Hassan Rasool Best goalkeeper title.

The Department of Computer Science organizes a cultural symposium on the role of educational institutions in combating the drug scourge
Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, the Department of Computer Science organized the cultural symposium tagged “The Role of Educational Institutions in Combating Drugs” in cooperation with the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the discussion hall in the building of the Department of Computer Science on Monday 20/3/2023 in the presence of the Head of the Department of Science Computer Prof. Dr. Alia Karim Abdel-Hassan and Scientific Assistant Assistant Prof. Dr. Noha Jamil Ibrahim and Administrative Assistant Assistant Professor Bashar Saadoun Mahdi. The lecture was given by the international expert, Mr. Baraa Najeeb Al-Hadithi, and the legal advisor, Attorney Ayyam Jawad. In medication and medical affairs, the materials allowed to be used for treatment purposes were determined. The effects of drug dealing in Iraq in 2016 emerged with the emergence of many moral crimes in society, houses that were demolished, symptoms were violated, and wherever drugs were present, economic, cultural and social destruction existed. Drugs began with medical drugs that turned into drug trafficking, according to Law 50 For the year 2017, the presence of a person in a place where drugs are found, the person is considered guilty. Anyone who is present in the place and contributes to mediation, trading, transportation, and everything related to drugs shall have the same penalty.
The types of drugs were discussed, including crystal, which is a chemical substance and has no cure for addiction. The symposium aims to educate young people to beware of cafes, hookahs and barbershops, where free distribution of drugs takes place in the beginning in order to promote them to implicate young people and then sell them at the most expensive prices. Drugs are a malignant disease that must be Fighting it, as it is transmitted from one person to another, and emphasizing the necessity of choosing good friends and not being in suspicious places.
