- The Computer Science Department discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Dual Method for Encryption and Hiding in Video Frames Using Conformal Mapping in IoT" by PhD student Rawiya Abdullah Mohammed on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall in the Computer Science Department building. The dissertation aims to protect sensitive individual information, such as facial images, from intruders during transmission over an insecure environment using IoT devices. The proposed methods showed good results in safeguarding the transmitted sensitive information, contributing to improved resilience against attacks. - The Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, attended the regular meeting of the Deans' Committee of Information Technology Colleges. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, and was attended by the deans of computer science colleges. The meeting took place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Tikrit. During the meeting, the committee's incoming mail was discussed, which included several proposals for new studies in scientific departments and other correspondence. Additionally, recommendations and solutions for some of the challenges in the field were proposed to support the educational process and the journey of our dear students. The President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, awarded certificates of appreciation to the Head of the Computer Science Department at the University of Technology and the other deans.

- Assistant Professor Hiba Basim Alwan, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Flexible Computing and Computer Applications, participated in a workshop organized by the Web of Science (WoS) editorial team. The workshop was held online on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The WoS editorial team provided an inside look at the journal evaluation process and selection criteria, highlighting why WoS is the world's most trusted publisher of the independent global citation database.

- The Computer Science Department discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Dual Watermark Modulo to Avoid Attack in Video Conference" by PhD student Yasmin Alaa Hassan on Monday, May 27, 2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall in the Computer Science Department building. The dissertation aims to present a method to enhance the security of video conferences through a dual watermarking module. The integration of dual watermarking not only enhances the security of video conferencing systems but also provides a robust framework for maintaining the integrity and authenticity of shared multimedia content. - Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, graduate students (Master's and PhD) began their final exams for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024 today, Monday, May 27, 2024, with the participation of 26 students. A member of the University Exams Oversight Committee visited the department and, along with the Head of the Department, inspected the exam halls to review the level of questions and the progress of the exams. He commended the efforts of those responsible for conducting the exams and wished the students success and good luck.
