- Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, Head of the Computer Science Department, along with the department council, attended the official ceremony for the foundation stone laying of a new building at the University of Technology by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi. The event took place today, Monday, June 3, 2024, where the foundation stone for the new annex building at the University of Technology, in collaboration with the Baghdad Governorate, was laid.

In his speech during the official ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education emphasized the importance of close cooperation between local administrations of governorates, their administrative councils, and university institutions to achieve the desired level of integration between these executive spaces. He noted that the synergy of these national efforts, joint coordination, and teamwork enables effective resource utilization and sets the starting line towards outcomes that serve society.

He added that the current phase, managed and overseen by the esteemed Iraqi government, carries clear strategic indicators towards developing institutions and improving services according to an operational vision that leaves no room for time waste and effort dispersion, achieving tangible accomplishments for the citizens. He pointed out that joint cooperation gives a doubled momentum for the sustainability of construction projects, embodies institutional integration, and establishes an important milestone in fostering a developmental and progressive environment.

The official ceremony included speeches by Baghdad Governor Mr. Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi and the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghaban, along with a presentation of the most significant completed projects. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, inaugurated the new headquarters of the university presidency, affirming that these important projects come within the context of the "Year of Achievements," which has become a starting point for improving services in all state institutions, especially academic and university ones.
