The editorial board of the Journal of Flexible Computing and Computer Applications participated in the "Scopus Content Selection for Editors in the Arab Region" workshop, held online on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. The workshop focused on indexing standards within Scopus and featured a guest expert from the Global Advisory Board of Scopus, which comprises 17 experts. Many journal editors from various Arab and foreign countries attended the workshop.

The Computer Science Department discussed the Master's thesis titled "A Real-Time Face Recognition and Tracking Framework Using Lightweight Convolutional Neural Network" by Master's student Aseel Wadood Majeed on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the late Dr. Abbas Fadel Abdulqader Hall in the annex building of the Computer Science Department. The thesis aims to develop a framework for real-time face recognition using a lightweight CNN, taking into account challenges related to facial images such as variations in lighting and expressions, which affect the application and recognition results.
