doctoral discussion for the student Ali Adil

- The student Ali Adil has obtained his PhD from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for his dissertation (Cuneiform Symbols Recognition Using Pattern Recognition Techniques and Corpus). This research presents a proposed system for distinguishing these symbols in cuneiform image using techniques for distinguishing patterns, Photomorphism by proposed algorithms. In addition to the proposed algorithms in the field of improving and standardizing the features of the image of the removal of stains and lines of writing, which represent the characteristics of changing the incidence of the presence of one image to another and therefore must be removed to obtain a uniform formula before the process of excellence. Depending on the techniques (image morphology and distance converter) in a new suggested manner. In this research, the group of images is proposed to train the system in the form of triangular shapes, which in turn reflect all the possibilities of the patterns of light reflection on the three-dimensional symbolic symbol (as a certified factor for the first time) distributed by four main patterns, which in turn form 17 rows that differ from each other in direction . In this research, a comparison of the accuracy of excellence of the cuneiform character was carried out when it was based on the construction of the derived characteristics derived from the first use of polygon approximation technique and comparing the result of excellence with the traditional methods of building the characteristics of the character. This was on Sunday, 2018 and the discussion room in the annex building of the department and the discussion committee was composed of (Dr. Hassanein Samir Abdullah and Dr. Shaima Hamid Shaker and Dr. Ekhlas Khalaf Kabbashi) of the University of Technology / Department of Computer Sciences and (Dr. Morteza Mohammed Hamad) from Al Anbar University / Computer Science and (Dr. Haitham Abdul Latif Omar) of the Faculty of Alsalam College / Department of Computer Science with the presence of the student's supervisors (Prof. Dr. Abdel-Moneim Saleh and Dr. Abdul Mohsen Jaber).

The vital features that we rely on in this message are teeth and DNA. Basic concepts are introduced to identify one of many through the use of biometric standards and how these standards have been improved in the last few years. It presents various research and techniques related to this subject and concepts for evaluating these techniques. Presents a new way to identify a person from his own DNA and teeth which is widely used in forensic, border regulation, paternity determination and in investigations. The system contains three main modules: the dental model, the DNA model and the dental model mixture and the DNA (hybrid). The dental model has two main stages: the training phase (sampling of the database) and the testing stage (identification). These stages include the processing stage and the stage of extracting the characteristic features.

Discussing the doctoral thesis of the student Salma Hamidi

- The student Salma Hamidi Abdullah received her PhD from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis titled "An Application of Human Eye Gaze in Controlling Mobile Devices" She suggested an application system that can control mobile devices to help users with difficult communication. This system is a non-intrusive input model, the pupil center was selected to calculate the eye movement data to determine the human point of view on the mobile device screen, the action only depends on the front camera to capture the input image. Many algorithms have been used to determine the point at which a human is viewed on a mobile screen. This system uses many stages such as facial detection, eye detection, pupil detection, eye orientation determination, and finally the control of the device used in the system provides an interface for the hands of the hands through the graphical user interface to control the screen of the mobile device Galaxy eye tracking is obtained in the direction of the pupil to The top, bottom, left and right numbers are entered into the user screen by tracking the look. To implement these processes a number of different algorithms were used, such as the detection algorithm for skin areas, the filter cabor, and other mathematical processes to locate the face in the image. And then through the features available in the eye is determined the area of the pupil and then the horizontal and vertical line is scanned depending on the threshold line.

Discussing the doctoral dissertation of Najlaa' Abdel-Hamza

- The student Najlaa' Abdul Hamza received her doctorate from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for her thesis entitled "3D Face Reconstruction Method for Unconstrained Images" This thesis focuses on reconstructing three-dimensional faces from a series of two-dimensional images, In the position, lighting or point of view and to obtain a precise three-dimensional model matches the two-dimensional characteristics, in this thesis was proposed a new way to reconstruct the three-dimensional faces by incorporating the reconstruction algorithm (reconstruction scattered) with a general model to get Intensive building (final three-dimensional model). We get the three-dimensional dots scattered from a series of faces using the improved motion structure algorithm. We obtain the intensive final reconstruction (the 3D model of the faces) by combining the scattered face points and the general model using the updated matching algorithm for the optimization process to reduce the difference between the input images and the resulting model.
