A staff member Dr. Maha Abdul Kareem Hmoud Participated as the Chairman and member of the committees of Seminars of Graduate students at the Faculty of Management and Economics / University of Baghdad on 16/1/2018 where she was chosen as Chairman of the discussion committee for a high diploma student in the municipal administration equivalent to the Master for her research titled (assessment of the level of requirements for implementation of the environmental management system).

Discussion of the PhD student Mustafa Jassim Hadi
The student (Mustafa Jassim Hadi) obtained his doctorate degree from the Department of Computer Sciences / University of Technology for his thesis (Sense-Based Information Retrieval Using Soft Computing Techniques) Sunday, 14/1/2018 at the discussion hall in the department and the discussion committee consisted of (Dr. Hanaa' Mohamed Mohsen and Dr. Ayad Roudan Abbas (from the University of Technology / Computer Sciences Department) and Prof. Dr. Diaa' Abd Al-Hussein Jumaa from Al Mustansiriya University / Computer Science Department and Dr. Bilal Ismail Khalil from Al Anbar University / Department of Computer Science and Dr. Asaad Sabah Hadi from Babylon University / Faculty of Information Technology).

Workshop entitled "The Second Educational Lecture on Procedural Methods"
The Laboratory Division in the Department of Computer Sciences held a workshop entitled "The Second Educational Lecture on Procedural Methods" by the Lecturer of the Quality Consultant at the Continuing Education Center, Mr. Majed Ahmed Ali, on Thursday 11/1/2018 in one of the laboratories of the department. with the attendace of the scientific deputy Dr. Alia Karim and the Administrative deputy Dr. Iyad Rohdan and Director of Quality Assurance Division Dr. Khalil Ibrahim and the Director of Laboratories. Asst. Lect. Wissam Ali and laboratories staff.
The workshop dealt with a detailed explanation on how to write the procedural methods in accordance with the quality specifications and the instructions of the quality department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research where the procedures were divided into technical procedures and administrative procedures.

Discussion of the Master student Marwan Majid Nayef at Al Anbar University

The Department starts the exams of the first course
The Computer Sciences Department exams started for the end of the first courses for the second level (The courses system) and the exam for the first semester of the third and fourth leveld (the annual system) for the students of the primary studies for the academic year 2017-2018 after the completion of all the preparations of the halls and the provision of test requirements for the appropriate test environment for students wishing them success .

A letter of thanks from the Minister of Higher Education
The Head of the Department of Computer Sciences Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdul Wahab and Administrative Deputy Dr. Iyad Rohdan Abbas and Assrt. Prog. Fadel Abbas Fadel and Asst. Prog. Mohamed Thamer received a thanks and appreciation letter from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, in appreciation of their efforts in the design of an integrated test system to deal with large numbers of students admitted to private universities and colleges. It is worth mentioning that this system was designed by the Committee of electronic systems in computer sciences department, it is an integrated system based on multiple-choice questions were It is built with the latest software design methods in terms of speed, flexibility and ease of dealing by the students with a high degree of security.

The Department participation in the week of volunteer work
Within the week of volunteer held by the University of Technology, the Department of Computer Sciences had a busy week of volunteer work for the period 25-29 December 2017. The work included cleaning and planting roses at the entrance way leading to the department where a number of volunteer students participated and expressed their happiness with these activities.

Workshop of Random Digital Art
The workshop of random digital art was held in the Department of Computer Sciences. presented by lecturer Sanaa Mohsen in cooperation with the University of Information and Communication Technology Tuesday, 26/12/2017 at the discussion room in the department, the workshop showed the history of digital art and the extent of overlap between technology and art in addition to the possibility of computer in the development of the general level in providing a mobile environment in color and artistic creativity through the computer screen reduced time and cost in addition of enriching the Iraqi culture innovations to employ in the process of creativity in Iraq alongside the Iraqi creator and to identify the concept of computer technology in drawing and meanings of creativity in art and conditions of the digital artist and similarities between the artist and digital tradition and shed a light on the use of technology and the importance of drawing and painting conditions. Finally, emphasis was placed on scientific planning and performance of the interaction between teachers and students to apply technology in the field of education, noting that out of the routine educational process.

The graduate follow-up unit in the Department of Computer Sciences held a workshop entitled (Computer Maintenance) for the period (24-26 / 12/2017) the lecturer presented by, the senior engineer Boshra Fuad which she introduced to the graduates some basics of computer maintenance by identifying the parts of the computer and its specifications and common faults, Types of operating systems, explanation of the platform interface, configuration of the computer, partitioning the hard drive and installation of programs.
