Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi and the manager of storage division, the Computer Science Department has begun emptying the last storage room of the department, which contains cooling and air conditioning equipment, for the purpose of handing it over to the university storage department.

Participation of the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Computer Science in the First Annual Forum for Editors-in-Chief of Iraqi Scientific Journals Held at Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University
Professor Alia Kareem Abdulhassan, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Computer Science, participated in the First Annual Forum for Editors-in-Chief of Iraqi Scientific Journals held at Imam Ja'far Al-Sadiq University on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
The forum aimed to discuss the key criteria for including humanities journals published in Arabic in the Scopus database, enhance the quality of scientific research and academic publishing in Iraq, improve communication between the editorial boards of scientific journals, and promote their inclusion in global databases.

Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, the Administrative Assistant in the Computer Science Department, participated as a member of the preparatory committee for the closing ceremony of the Jusoor Program, held from June 5-6, 2024, at the University of Technology. The event, held under the slogan "Bridges Towards a Promising Digital Future for Iraqi Youth," aimed to equip Iraqi youth with skills that qualify them for the job market. The Jusoor Program began as part of an agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the World Food Programme.

The Head of the Computer Science Department Attends the Opening of the Job Fair with the Participation of Over Forty Companies and Institutions in Collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme at the University of Technology
Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, Head of the Computer Science Department, attended the opening of the Job Fair, which saw the participation of over forty companies and institutions. The event was part of the Bridges 2024 program for training and preparing job-seeking youth, under the patronage of the esteemed Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and supported by the World Food Programme (WFP) in collaboration with the University of Technology. The fair took place on the university campus from June 5-6, 2024.
The event was also attended by Ms. Sima Hassan, Head of the Graduate Follow-up, Training, and Employment Unit, and Ms. Manar Musab, Head of the Training Unit in the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Division.
It was a remarkable day for the University of Technology, highlighted by the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and many distinguished figures, including the German Ambassador.

Attendance of the Head of the Computer Science Department and His Council at the Official Ceremony for the Foundation Stone Laying of a New Building at the University of Technology by the Minister of Higher Education
Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, Head of the Computer Science Department, along with the department council, attended the official ceremony for the foundation stone laying of a new building at the University of Technology by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi. The event took place today, Monday, June 3, 2024, where the foundation stone for the new annex building at the University of Technology, in collaboration with the Baghdad Governorate, was laid.
In his speech during the official ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education emphasized the importance of close cooperation between local administrations of governorates, their administrative councils, and university institutions to achieve the desired level of integration between these executive spaces. He noted that the synergy of these national efforts, joint coordination, and teamwork enables effective resource utilization and sets the starting line towards outcomes that serve society.
He added that the current phase, managed and overseen by the esteemed Iraqi government, carries clear strategic indicators towards developing institutions and improving services according to an operational vision that leaves no room for time waste and effort dispersion, achieving tangible accomplishments for the citizens. He pointed out that joint cooperation gives a doubled momentum for the sustainability of construction projects, embodies institutional integration, and establishes an important milestone in fostering a developmental and progressive environment.
The official ceremony included speeches by Baghdad Governor Mr. Abdul Mutalib Al-Alawi and the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghaban, along with a presentation of the most significant completed projects. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, inaugurated the new headquarters of the university presidency, affirming that these important projects come within the context of the "Year of Achievements," which has become a starting point for improving services in all state institutions, especially academic and university ones.

A PhD Dissertation in the Computer Science Department Discusses a Dual Method for Encryption and Steganography in Video Frames Using Matching Mapping in the Internet of Things
The Computer Science Department discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Dual Method for Encryption and Hiding in Video Frames Using Conformal Mapping in IoT" by PhD student Rawiya Abdullah Mohammed on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall in the Computer Science Department building.
The dissertation aims to protect sensitive individual information, such as facial images, from intruders during transmission over an insecure environment using IoT devices. The proposed methods showed good results in safeguarding the transmitted sensitive information, contributing to improved resilience against attacks.

The Head of the Computer Science Department Attends the Regular Meeting of the Deans' Committee of Information Technology Colleges
The Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, attended the regular meeting of the Deans' Committee of Information Technology Colleges. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, and was attended by the deans of computer science colleges. The meeting took place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Tikrit.
During the meeting, the committee's incoming mail was discussed, which included several proposals for new studies in scientific departments and other correspondence. Additionally, recommendations and solutions for some of the challenges in the field were proposed to support the educational process and the journey of our dear students.
The President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, awarded certificates of appreciation to the Head of the Computer Science Department at the University of Technology and the other deans.

The Computer Science Department discussed the PhD dissertation titled "Dual Watermark Modulo to Avoid Attack in Video Conference" by PhD student Yasmin Alaa Hassan on Monday, May 27, 2024, in the late Dr. Imad Kazem Hall in the Computer Science Department building.
The dissertation aims to present a method to enhance the security of video conferences through a dual watermarking module. The integration of dual watermarking not only enhances the security of video conferencing systems but also provides a robust framework for maintaining the integrity and authenticity of shared multimedia content.

Graduate Students in the Computer Science Department Begin Final Exams for the Second Semester of the Academic Year 2023-2024
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, graduate students (Master's and PhD) began their final exams for the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024 today, Monday, May 27, 2024, with the participation of 26 students.
A member of the University Exams Oversight Committee visited the department and, along with the Head of the Department, inspected the exam halls to review the level of questions and the progress of the exams. He commended the efforts of those responsible for conducting the exams and wished the students success and good luck.
